Please observe and/or note the points listed below when making/preparing your posts.
  1. Please constrain your discussion to the theme of the particular board. Off topic posts will be moved to a relevant board (if I or the other moderators are feeling benevolent) or simply deleted without explanation if we're in a less generous mood, or if it's not appropriate for any of the boards.

  2. Be careful of what you say. Postings on this site can be probably be construed as libel. Remember: you had to register to post. I know who you are, and I can pass your details on if I see fit (or I'm threatened enough!).

  3. If, in my opinion, I repeat, MY opinion, or that of my moderators, you get out of line, your post will be deleted. This may be with or without explanation. See the Makiwara FAQ for my interpretation of free speech. As with both of the old Makiwara, I hope not to have to resort to censorship, but I have and I will if I need to.

  4. Discrimination of any sort against anyone will not be tolerated or permitted. This includes slurs agains race, country, religion, gender, sexual preferences, or even physical attributes, and to a lesser degree, even against (or from) different martial arts styles!

  5. The preferred language on these boards is English.. It is however NOT compulsory! Any language can be used, other than foul language, including pidgins and creoles, dialects, and any other variation of any language. It is NOT ACCEPTABLE to comment on someone's inability to communicate in English due to the fact that it is his or her second (or maybe more) language - unless you are willing to attempt it in that person's native language at least as well as they are doing in English. Consider, before you criticise spelling, grammar, and vocabulary, that the poster may well be struggling to get a point across with a huge linguistic hurdle to overcome. On the other hand, there are also many native English speakers who are completely incapable of stringing two words together into a coherent thought, much less a written sentence! C'est la vie. There's still no need to criticise - it's their problem, not yours.

  6. When responding to a post, please try to delete all the the bits that are not relevant to your response. Some people will respond to a long post with a simple "That's a good post" and it will get lost amid the large post. Leaving the large post in your response also takes up more space on the server, not to mention the bandwidth wastage, and therefore will affect the response time, not to mention costs.. It's okay to remove most of the previous post when responding - people will usually already have read it before coming on to yours.

  7. These fora (or forums to non-latin speakers) use cookies to remember your preferences. It also uses cookies to remember your name and email address, and enters them automatically in the posting form. If you have disabled them on your browser, your preferences will not be maintained. To the best of my knowledge no cookie information is stored on this server nor is it sent anywhere except back to the server. As far as I know, it is all stored on YOUR computer. Consequently, if you access the site from another computer, you will have to re-configure your preferences.
